体育播报12月29日宣根据之前的报道，新任主教练邵佳一即将率全新国足在肇庆正式立旗，并将赴海外拉练。《体坛周报》记者马德兴撰文认为，对邵佳一和新国足而言，2026年最重要的恐怕不是研究如何准备冲击2030年世界杯预选赛，而首先应该是稳住目前中国队在国际足联的排名。

国际足联12月19日公布了男足国家队最终世界排名，中国队以1249.06个技术积分排名世界第93位、亚洲第14位。相比上一期，中国队因没有参加任何国际A级赛，技术积分没有变化，排名也没有变化。但这个排名却是中国队自2014年底的第97位以来，年终排名最差的一次。尤其是在技术积分方面，近几年每况愈下：2024年底，中国队排名世界第90位、技术积分为1266.38分；2023年底以1299.49分排名世界第79位；2022年以1305.06分排名世界第80位；2021年则是以1337.33分排名世界第74位。

更令人担忧的是，这个排名背后还潜藏着更大的危机。至下一个国际足联指定的国际比赛窗口期结束，中国队的排名有可能会进一步下滑，甚至存在着被身后的巴勒斯坦、泰国反超的可能。这将直接影响到中国队今后参加亚洲大赛的分档情况，也就意味着国足未来在洲际大赛中的同组对手将会更强。

在国际足联的最新国家队排名中，原来紧随中国队身后的泰国以1243.27个技术积分落到了世界第96位、亚洲第16位，而巴勒斯坦以则1244.73个技术积分升至世界第95位、亚洲第15位。这与巴勒斯坦参加了12月1日至18日在卡塔尔进行的第11届国际足联阿拉伯杯且杀入了淘汰赛有很大关系。因为是国际足联批准的赛事，这项赛事的技术积分“权重”原本为“5”，但实际变成了“10”，这就极大地帮助巴勒斯坦抢到了足够多的技术积分。

中国队的危机在于：如果2026年3月23日至31日这个国际足联指定的国际比赛窗口期中，中国队安排的热身赛中无法取胜，至2026年4月初国际足联公布最新世界排名时，中国队就有可能同时被巴勒斯坦和泰国反超。因为泰国队在明年3月31日将参加2027亚洲杯预选赛第三阶段小组赛最后一轮角逐，且主场迎战土库曼斯坦，计算技术积分时的权重为“25”，土库曼斯坦的世界排名虽为137位，但泰国只要取胜，就可以拿到8.87个技术积分。这样，在今年12月的年终技术积分中，仅仅落后中国队5.79分的泰国就将直接反超中国。

今年12月初在亚冠精英联赛结束第一阶段前六轮赛事以及亚冠二级联赛东亚区小组赛结束后，曾撰文指出：中超虽然在亚足联下属会员协会技术积分排名中依然排亚洲第七、东亚大区第四位，但中超的技术积分落后泰超已从上赛季末的0.191分变成了如今的7.972分。如果男足国家队的排名再被泰国国家队反超的话，这无疑又会让国人“添新堵”、中国男足的地位将进一步下滑。
